Experiencing Loss, Bereavement or grief can be one of the worst things that we experience in our lifetime and is one of the most stressful life events. Loss or a bereavement can raise a whole host of emotions that we unequipped to handle and can affect us in various ways. There are various losses, such as loss of a job or loss of a relationship but this course will specifically look at loss related to death.
In this course we take a look at loss, bereavement and grief and how such experiences can affect us. We take a look at the physical and cognitive symptoms of grief, surviving the first couple of years, techniques that can help and looking at acceptance and towards the future.
The aims of the course are:
- To understand the physical and emotional impact of loss, bereavement and grief
- To introduce coping mechanisms for dealing with grief
- How to live around grief and face the future
